New Zealand AgResearch Delegation Visited IFST

On October 24th, Tom Richardson, CEO of AgResearch, New Zealand delegation visited IFST to discuss cooperation between two organizations. Vice Director Dequan Zhang attended the event.

Vice Director Dequan Zhang warmly welcomed Mr. Tom Richardson’s visit. He said that IFST and AgResearch had signed a cooperation memorandum in May, and Mr. Richardson's visit could further implement the priority research areas and issues, in order to lay a solid foundation for the start of substantive cooperation. He pointed out that New Zealand is rich in agricultural resources and has prominent advantages in meat, dairy and biological products in particular. He hoped that IFST and AgResearch could carry out cooperation in relevant fields through joint research, mutual visits of personnel, international conferences and bilateral academic activities.

Mr. Tom Richardson highly agrees with Dr. Zhang. He comprehensively introduced AgResearch’s overall situation and key research areas. AgResearch has established joint research centers with Massey University, Lincoln University and other universities and research institutes, and is applying for a number of international cooperation projects currently. He pointed out that the purpose of this visit is to have a deeper understanding of China-New Zealand cooperation directions, contents and methods, so as to seek strategic cooperation opportunities in multiple areas.

Mr. Tom Richardson delegation visited the Comprehensive Utilization Laboratory of Cereal Processing, the Agro-Products Processing Quality and Safety Supervision, Inspection and Testing Center (Beijing), MOA, the National Pilot Plant on Agro-Products Processing, MOA, the Key Comprehensive Laboratory of Agro-Products Processing, MOA,and laboratory of meat products processing team.
