Delegation of US University of Missouri Visits the Institute

    On May 18th, 2012, the delegation of US University of Missouri visited the Institute and members of this delegation include Vice President of University of Missouri Tom, Deputy Director of the College of Agriculture, Food and Natural Resources, Dr. Marc Linit, Deputy Director Dr. Bryan Garton, Head of the Food Science and Biological Engineering Department Dr. Jinglu Tan. Dr. Gong Xifeng, Deputy Director General of CAAS International Cooperation Bureau, Deputy Division Director Mr. Zhang Mingjun and Dr. Dai Xiaofeng, Director General of the Institute, attended the symposium with the relevant experts. This symposium was presided over by Dr. Dai Xiaofeng.

 

    Dr. Dai Xiaofeng, on behalf of the Institute, extended his warmest welcome to the delegation led by Vice President Tom and raised specific suggestions on research cooperation, academic exchange, talent cultivation, platform co-building, etc. He said that there is a large space for cooperation between the US University of Missouri and the Institute and that they have great potential for cooperation in grain processing, animal product processing, functional food, food safety, grain processing, etc. He hoped that the two parties enhance personnel exchange and cultivation, especially for doctorate and post-doctorate experts in the field of common interests, with a view to promoting substantive cooperation. And according to him, the two parties should further discuss how to enhance cooperation in jointly applying for and initiating international cooperation projects and jointly holding and initiating international conferences. And he hoped to build the China-US Joint Agro-products Processing Laboratory at an appropriate timetable and establish a cooperation window and mechanism with long-term effects.

 

    After the symposium, the delegation of US University of Missouri visited the National Key Llaboratory for Agro-Products Processing and the National Pilot Plant on Agro-products Processing.
