Research interest

1. Prevention and control of fungi and mycotoxins in food

Study on the effects of aw, temperature and nutrition on the fungal growth and mycotoxins production; Revealing the modulation mechanism of these environmental factors on the mycotoxins biosynthesis using the multi-omics analysis. Developing techniques, products and equipment of mycotoxins inhibition and blocking; Revealing the mechanism of action involved in the inhibition and blocking by inhibitors using multi-omics.

2. The modulation mechanism of water activity and fungi on the food deterioration

Study on the mechanism of occurrence and development of fungi in grains and oil products during storage and processing using multi-omics technologies including genomics, transcriptomics, proteomics and metabolomics; Revealing the correlation between water activity (aw) and fungal growth, preservatives and fungal growth; Definition of quality control aw value in grains and oil products; Development of reference material for moisture standard in complex matrix; Establishment of the measurement methods on aw and moisture sorption isotherms (MSI).

3. Detection technologies of food biohazard

Using Hyperspectral imaging (HIS), study on the spectral variation of grains and oil products contaminated with fungi and mycotoxins, developing techniques and equipment of classifying and removing the contaminated grains and oil products. Developing the rapid detection techniques and products for mycotoxins and pathogens in food; Characterization and variation analysis of fungal microbiome in grains and oilseeds during planting, harvesting and storage.

Awards/Achievements

He is the "Young Talents" of the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences, and deputy secretary-general of the National Mycotoxin Science & Technology Innovation Alliance. He won 2016 CAAS Outstanding Innovation Award and 1 China Agricultural Science and Technology Award.
