Recruiting Announcement of IAPPST Young Talents Plan in 2013

 

    Authorized by the State Council, Ministry of Agriculture, and Ministry of Science and Technology, the Institute of Agro-Products Processing Science and Technology (IAPPST)，Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences (CAAS) was founded on the base of the Institute of Atomic Utilization in Agriculture in October, 2002. As the only national public welfare research institute on agro-products processing, the Institute carries on the responsibility of basic and application fundamental research, high-tech development, key technology study and products development; solving the fundamental, directional, national and strategic scientific issues in China’s agro-products processing. The Institute gives full play to leadership as the only national research institute on agro-products processing, to devote on scientific research and technology innovation, technologies’ transfer and application in industry, international cooperation, senior talents cultivation and industrial policy research, etc., to build the first class research institution in China and the world.

    With the aim of building the world class research institute in the world, based on the requirements of Scientific Innovation Project and Young Talents Plan of CAAS, authorized by CAAS, IAPPST now recruits scientists from China and abroad.

    I  Position Information

    1. Position Title: Cereal and Oil Pressing and Comprehensive Utilization

    (1) Domain of Research:

    Processing suitability evaluation of bulk grain and oil;

    Production and modification of plant protein;

    Preparation of functional oligopeptide and polysaccharide, and related biological activity mechanism

    Candidate Qualifications:

    Strong professional background and abundant practical experience in plant protein engineering, functional evaluation of active peptide and polysaccharide;

    An oversea doctor degree or oversea working experience (minimum of three years) after Ph.D.;

    Not exceeding 40 years old;

    Presided one (or above) Surface Project of National Natural Science Foundation of China or State Master Plan Project;

    one (or above) paper included by SCI with IF>5 as first author or corresponding author or win one (or above) Provincial Prize at least second class (ranked in top 3).

    (2) Domain of Research:

    Potato Processing and Comprehensive Utilization;

    Extraction and production of nutrient and functional facts from potato;

   Nutritional and functional evaluation of potato

   Candidate Qualifications:

   Doctor degree on food science and related academic disciplines;

   Not exceeding 40 years old;

   With a senior professional title;

   3 years (or above) working experience in domestic universities or research institutions in the area of potato processing research;

   3 (or above) papers as first author or corresponding author in core journal or at least one paper with IF > 5.

   2. Position Title: Grain Processing

   Domain of Research:

   Quality evaluation and processing control in grain processing;

   Comprehensive utilization of grain by-products and functional factors extraction;

   Nutrition and health study in grain processing;

   Research and development on new type and convenient grain products.

   Candidate Qualifications:

   Strong professional background on grain chemical and food processing academic disciplines;

   Presided or participated as core scientist in significant research projects in China or abroad;

   An oversea doctor degree or post-doc working experience (minimum of three years) after Ph.D.;

   Not exceeding 40 years old;

   one (or above) paper included by SCI with IF >3 as first author;

   Possess one (or above) invention or key technology which has been industrialized.

   3. Position Title: Meat Science and Processing

   Domain of Research:

   Meat quality mechanism and regulation;

   Traditional Chinese meat engineering technology and machinary; Technology and machine of high-valued utilization of animal bone and blood technology and machinery.

   Candidate Qualifications:

   Strong professional background on meat science and technology, and food science;

   Familiar with the development frontier of meat science;

   An oversea Ph.D. degree or oversea working experience (minimum of three years) after Ph.D.;

   Not exceeding 40 years old;

   For oversea experts, published 3 (or above) papers in core journal as first author or corresponding author, or at least one paperwith IF > 5;

   For domestic experts, presided independently national or provincial research projects; published 3 (or above) papers included by SCI or at least one paper with IF > 5; or win one (or above) Provincial Prize (ranked in top2).

   4. Position Title: Traditional Food Processing and Machinery

   Domain of Research:

   Key engineering and adjust processing technologies to industrial production for traditional food;

   Traditional food processing equipment design, manufacture and automation.

   Candidate Qualifications:

   Strong professional background on food engineering, machinery or automation design;

   An oversea Ph.D. degree or oversea working experience (continuously for 3 years) after Ph. D.;

   Not exceeding 45 years old;

   For oversea experts, published 1 (or above) papers in core journal included by SCI withIF >3 as first author or corresponding author, or at least one paper with IF > 5; or get significant international patent for invention;

   For domestic experts, presided independently national or provincial research projects; published 1 (or above) papers in core journal included by SCI with IF >3 as first author or corresponding author; or win 1 provincial (or above) prize (rank in top 3); priority for National Distinguished Youth Science Foundation.

   5. Position Title: Fruit and Vegetable Processing and Comprehensive Utilization

   Domain of Research:

   Fruit and vegetable functional components analysis and evaluation;

   Varying pattern, processing control theory and technology.

   Candidate Qualifications:

   Strong professional background and Ph.D. degree on fruit and vegetable processing, food science or related research disciplines;

   3 years (or above) continuous oversea research experience;

   Not exceeding 40 years old;

   1 (or above) papers included by SCI withIF >5 as first author or corresponding author, or the total IF >10;

   Presided 2-3 research projects in abroad as core scientist;

   With distinguished achievements in 1-2 research areas.

   6. Position Title: Cold Chain Logistics Technology and Equipment

   Domain of Research:

   Cold chain logistics technology and equipment;

   New product research and development on cold chain logistics.

   Candidate Qualifications:

   Strong professional background and Ph.D. on agro-product processing and storage, cold chain logistics, and related research disciplines;

   3 years (or above) continuous oversea research experience;

   Not exceeding 45 years old;

   2 (or above) papers in core journal with IF >5 as first author or corresponding author;

   2 (or above) important patent for invention;

   Priority for National Distinguished Youth Science Foundation.

   7. Position Title:Agro-Products Preservation

   Domain of Research:

   Preservation equipment and preservatives;

   Molecular mechanism of quality control during storage of agro-products.

   Candidate Qualifications:

   Ph.D. degree;

   3 years (or above) continuous oversea research experience;

   Not exceeding 40 years old;

   3 (or above) papers in core journal as first author or corresponding author;

   Significant national patent for invention;

   1 provincial prize;

   Priority for National Distinguished Youth Science Foundation.

   8. Position Title: Bio-active Factors and Functional Food

   Domain of Research:

   Study on bio-active factors;

   Functional evaluation and mechanism research on bio-active factors;

   Development of functional food.

   Candidate Qualifications:

   Strong professional background and Ph.D. on food nutrition, food biochemistry, food science, analytical chemistry, etc.;

   Not exceeding 45 years old;

   For oversea experts, published 5 (or above) papers in core journal as first author or corresponding author, or at least one paper with IF >10; 1-2 significant international patent for invention;

   For domestic experts, 1 provincial prize (rank in top 3); published 5 (or above) papers in core journal as first author or corresponding author, or at least one paper with IF >10; Priority for National Distinguished Youth Science Foundation.

   9. Professional Title: Nutrition and Health

   Domain of Research:

   Food nutrition;

   Structure-function relation of nutrients and nutrition therapy;

   Personalized nutrition design and healthy food.

   Candidate Qualifications:

   Strong professional background on food nutrition, bio-chemical and molecular biology, medical nutrition and related academic disciplines;

   3 years (or above) research on food nutrition and health

   Not exceeding 45 years old;

   5 (or above) papers in core journal as first author or corresponding author, or at least one paper with IF >10.

   10. Professional Title: Bio-processing and Food Biotechnology

   Domain of Research:

   Directional enzymatic hydrolysis and transformation of biomass; Targeting technology of protein or polysaccharide;

   Novel biomaterials and novel biological food.

   Candidate Qualifications:

   Strong professional background and Ph.D. on biological engineering, food biotechnological, biochemistry & molecular biology, and related academic disciplines;

   3 years (or above) research on bio-processing and food biotechnology;

   Not exceeding 45 years old;

   5 (or above) papers in core journal as first author or corresponding author, or at least one paper with IF >10.

   11. Professional Title: Fungus and its Prevention

   Domain of Research: Verticilium dahliaeand toxigenic fungi prevention and control technology

   Candidate Qualifications:

   Strong professional background and Ph.D. on plant protection, molecular plant pathology, molecular biology or molecular breeding for disease resistance.

   Not exceeding 45 years old;

   For oversea experts, published 5 (or above) papers in core journal as first author or corresponding author, or at least one paper with IF >10;

   For domestic experts, published 5 (or above) papers in core journal as first author or corresponding author, or at least one paper with IF >10; Priority for National Distinguished Youth Science Foundation, provincial or national prize owner.

   12. Professional Title: Mycotoxin Prevention

   Domain of Research:

   Formation and control mechanism;

   Mycotoxin prevention and elimination theory and technology.

   Candidate Qualifications:

   Strong professional background and Ph.D. on plant pathogenic fungi and molecular biology;

   Not exceeding 40 years old;

   For oversea experts, published 5 (or above) papers in core journal as first author or corresponding author, or at least one paper with IF >10;

   For domestic experts, published 5 (or above) papers in core journal as first author or corresponding author, or at least one paper with IF >10; Priority for National Distinguished Youth Science Foundation, provincial or national prize owner.

   II Remuneration and Foundation in Transitional Period

   1. Same salary, welfare and medical treatment with the formal employees of IAPPST.

   2. Adequately scientific research foundation via direct allocation or project funding, scientific research instruments and equipment, and office conditions.

   3. IAPPST provides temporary apartment needed.

   III Remuneration and Foundation after Recruitment

   After 1 year work in IAPPST, the candidates will take the CAAS preferential appraisal. Every candidate has 2 application opportunities for this appraisal. If not passed at the first time, the candidates can apply again one year later. If passed the CAAS preferential appraisal, public notification, CAAS Talent Work Group accreditation, the candidates will be issued the Young Talents Plan Certification and the related supportive conditions:

   1. Recruited as Talent A and B, the recruits will be given 2,000,000 RNB scientific research foundation and 1,000,000 RNB for research instruments and equipments.

   2. Recruited as “National Distinguished Young Talents”, the recruits will be given 3,000,000 RNB scientific research foundation and 3,000,000 RNB for research instruments and equipments.

   3. Recruitedas “1000 Plan of Young Talents”, the recruits will be given 1,000,000 RNB scientific research foundation and 2,000,000 RNB for research instruments and equipments apart from the supportive conditions provided by the State.

   4. Recruited as CAAS Talent A, B and C, the recruits will be given allowance of 100㎡apartment standard (accounts according to the last year’s average commercial residence price in Beijing, with the maximum amount not exceeding 1,000,000 RNB); or given the priority to buy apartments built by CAAS according to the public housing policy.

   5. During the recruitment, the recruits can enjoy 100,000 post subsidies apart from the regular salary, welfare and medical treatment.

   6. The spouse could be arranged to work in IAPPST, and the children could enjoy related treatments on school, registered permanent residence, medical care and insurance.

    IV Recruitment Procedure

   1. Registration

   From the date of announcement to the end of 2013, applicants can email the materials required (please refer to IV) to zhbgs5109@126.com, or send to IAPPST (please refer to V), the original materials should be brought to the interview.

   2. Qualification Examination

   Talent Recruitment Committee of IAPPST will examine applicants’ materials (Young Talents Plan Application Form of IAPPST, and related certifications).

   3. Assessment

   The applicants will take interview of Assessment Group constituted by Talent Recruitment Committee and peer experts, and physical examination in the first grade hospital. The recruit nomination will be submitted to Director General’s Meeting.

   4. Identify Enrollment List

   The enrollment list will be discussed and decided in the Director General’s Meeting and put to public notification.

   5. Report to CAAS

   The applicants should submit materials to CAAS for record. The materials include “CAAS Young Talents Plan Candidate Record Form” and recommendations.

   6. Sign Agreement

   When passed the record audition in CAAS, the applicants sign “Young Talents Plan Management Agreement of CAAS” to clarify the bilateral responsibility and duty, including work objective, research foundation, research assistants, work and living conditions, etc.

   7. Preferential Appraisal

   The applicants will take the preferential appraisal of CAAS after working for 1 year in IAPPST.

   8. Recruitment

   When passed the preferential appraisal and public notification of CAAS, approved by CAAS Talent Work Group, the applicants will be issued the Young Talents Plan Certification and the related supportive conditions.

   V Materials Required for Recruitment

   1. Registration

   2. Materials Required

   1. Two copies of IAPPST Young Talent Plan Registration Form.

   2. Copies/scanning copies of identity certifications (identity card, passport), academic certificates, title certificates, certification of important post of the former working unit and other related materials.

   3. Copies/scanning copies of recommendations from two peer experts in China or abroad.

   4. Certificates on patents or other intellectual property rights, and other related copies/scanning copies.
